The Owner and Licensed Physical Therapist behind Southern Maryland Myofascial Release, Inc.

Heather studied at Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1999 and obtaining her Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy in 2000.  Heather's career has taken her through the many environments of physical therapy care including inpatient hospital care, skilled nursing care, home health care, aquatic therapy, outpatient orthopedics, and now the realm of private practice physical therapy.

Heather initially created  her physical therapy business, Journeying into Healing, in October of 2011 and then incorporated to become Southern Maryland Myofascial Release in 2017.  Heather felt that the patient was getting lost in traditional patient care models with too much focus on what the insurance companies deemed necessary care instead of relying on professional diagnosis and treatment.  It was a desire to bring the patient back into focus, along with the goal of healing patients from the core, that motivated Heather to open her own practice.

The art of Myofascial Release is what brought Heather relief from painful conditions including a dislocated knee, dislocated shoulder, shoulder and neck surgery, and multiple abdominal surgeries.  Through her own care, she realized there is immense healing potential waiting to be tapped in each of us with the right touch and technique.  She offers this same advanced skill set and care to the public for their own transformation; giving each person the opportunity to heal from their unique histories and injuries.
